New PhD/MSc Scholarship Available

Work on research and gain experience of helping undergrads to learn.

We are seeking applications for new PhD/MSc scholarship, associated with the Computing Drop In Support Centre, Computer DISC, at NUI Galway.

This scholarship will cover up to 3 years’ of research in any topic in Information Technology. Before applying, you must identify a potential research supervisor and a research topic; these details must be specified in your covering letter.

The scholarship is associated with the Computing Drop In Support Centre (Computer DISC) at NUI Galway. The successful applicant will have to contribute approximately 10 hours/week of tutoring to DISC, during the 24 weeks of term, and in return will be awarded a research fellowship of €10,000 plus fees per year.  

Fellowships are renewable annually for up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance in the Centre and the research. These tutors do not have to contribute a further 5 hours to lab and tutorial work, as other postgraduate students do; their teaching contribution is entirely in the DISC.
